South Bend Chamber Singers Michiana's Premier Vocal Chamber Ensemble

Sharon Bain, Soprano Section Leader, first joined SBCS in 1997.  She earned her undergraduate degree in American Studies, with a minor in music, from the University of Notre Dame where she studied voice and French horn.

Amy Barker, Soprano, is a native of the South Bend area and is enjoying her first season with SBCS. Amy graduated form Saint Mary's College in 2009, where she studied Music Performance and Communication Disorders.

Stephanie Berry, Soprano, is a native of Middlebury, IN. and a fourth year member of SBCS. Stephanie earned her undergraduate degree in Apparel Design with minors in Vocal Performance and Marketing at Ball State University.

Dawn Bontrager, Alto, is in her seventh season with SBCS.  Dawn is a native of Northern Minnesota.  She earned her undergraduate degree in social work from Goshen College, a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and a Master's of Divinity from the Chicago Theological Seminary.

Carol Bosler, Alto Section Leader, earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics and secondary education from Western Michigan University.

Carrie Bjonback, Alto, is returning for her fifth season with SBCS. She grew up in Moline, Illinois, lived for several years in Canada, and now resides in LaPorte, Indiana.

Breighan Brown, Soprano, is in her third season with SBCS. She is the Senior Budget Analyst and Adjunct Professor of Music History at Southwestern Michigan College.

Kendall Dahlstrom, Tenor, has been with SBCS since its beginning.  He earned a B.A. in psychology and a Master of Divinity in pastoral studies from North Park University and Theological Seminary.

Stephen Drendall, Bass Section Leader, is in his twenty-second year with SBCS.  He received Music and Music Education degrees from Temple University, where he sang under renowned conductor Robert Page and was in the repertory choir for Masters in Choral Conducting students.

Michael Driscoll, Bass, is enjoying his fifteenth season with SBCS. A native of Butte, Montana, he is a Roman Catholic priest for the diocese of Helena, Montana. Since 1994, he has taught liturgical studies and sacramental theology in the Theology Department at the University of Notre Dame where he is the founding director of the Masters in Sacred Music program.

Melaney Gabris, Alto, is in her fourth season with SBCS.  She was with the 126 Army Band in Wyoming, Michigan for ten years as a percussionist, performing in goodwill tours in Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, Australia and Latvia.

David L. Homann, Tenor Section Leader, has been with SBCS since its first full season. A full-time dad with three kids' schedules to juggle, he maintains his own busy schedule in South Bend as a youth group leader, Sunday school teacher, cantor and member of the choir at his church, and he manages several rental properties.

Mike Hildreth, Bass, is a Masachusetts native who has followed academia to the Midwest (South Bend).

Jonathan Kim, Bass, is a lyric baritone from Los Angeles, California.  He earned his Bachelor of Music at University of California, Irvine in Vocal Performance - Opera.

Emily Klug, Alto, grew up in Michigan and sang with various ensembles in elementary school, high school and college. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

Mary Ann LaPlante, Alto, is the Pastoral Associate for Music, Liturgy and Spirituality at Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend, a position she's held for twenty-nine years.

Steven Mast, Tenor, has been singing with SBCS since 2000.  A native of La Porte, Indiana, he now resides in Niles, Michigan with his partner and five cats.

Laura Mc Phee, Alto, is in her third year with SBCS.  She grew up in a suburb of Detroit, MI and sang with several choirs while in high school and college.  She graduated from The University of Michigan with a BA in English Literature in 2003.

Tom Miracle, Bass, is in his fourth season with SBCS after returning to northern Indiana from Virginia, where he was a nine-year member of the Virginia Symphony Chorus and other choral groups in the Hampton Roads area.

Caitlin O'Brien, Soprano, is in her first season with SBCS.  Originally from Rochester Hills, MI, she earned her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Otterbein College in 2006.

Emily Packard, Soprano.  Originally from Southern California, Emily attended California State University, Fullerton and later received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of South Florida.

Edward Sparks, Tenor, is in his sixteenth season with SBCS. He has sung with numerous choirs and ensembles, and played trombone with several bands. Edward is a tool and die maker and currently works in the Metrology Lab at Honeywell.

Catherine Tadey, Alto, a 7½ year member of SBCS, is a native of Dyer, Indiana and a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. During her tenure at Butler, she studied voice with Kari York and Maryann Scott and oboe with Dr. Malcolm Smith.

Brad Todorovich, Tenor, is singing his third season with SBCS.  A singer and conductor by trade, he is also a proficient pianist, organist and guitarist.  Originally from New Lenox, IL, he holds the Master of Sacred Music degree (choral conducting emphasis) from the University of Notre Dame.

Jenny Ubl, Soprano, joins SBCS for her first season. Originally from the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, she earned a bachelor’s degree in music theory and history and a master's degree in sacred music from the University of Notre Dame.

Kyle Ubl, Bass, is singing his first season with SBCS. Originally from New Ulm, Minnesota, Kyle received his bachelor’s degree in English and music from the University of Notre Dame, and is now a second year law student at the University.

Melissa Whitaker-Auvil, Soprano, is in her second season with SBCS. Originally from Midland, Michigan, Melissa earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education at Central Michigan University and her Masters in Voice Performance from the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.
